Greetings and Welcome,

In recent weeks I have been drawn to the work of Burt Harding, in Vancouver BC, who I consider to be one of the most down to earth and clearly understandable teachers of non-dualistic awareness.

If you are clueless as to meaning of non-dualistic awareness, as I myself was, here is my rather simple (and perhaps simplistic) definition of Nonduality. It is the state or condition of not being separate and distinct even if appearing to be so. It is the condition which allows us to say that there is no true separation between ourselves and anyone else or anything else in the world, for instance. When we say things like “We are all one,” or “God is in all things,” we are asserting that the presence we call ‘reality’ is a nonduality.

Why is this even important? Because, as a culture, most of the world looks at life from a perspective of separateness, and most of us believe that happiness and fulfillment are totally dependent on outside things, events, and people. None of that is the truth. Consequently there is great unhappiness in our lives and the lives of those around us. Much of my emotional healing work with my clients involves helping them to release and heal the dualistic limiting beliefs that were inherited in childhood.

The more that we accept our connection to God, to each other, and to All of Life, the more our lives begin to come into true alignment with who we really are.

If you would like to see and hear a free 10 minute video portion of one of Burt Harding’s Satsangs (spiritual talks), visit YouTube site by clicking on “Living The Obvious”

Once you are at YouTube there are also many other talks of his that you can watch at no cost.

If you then wish to listen to full length audio MP3’s, on specific subjects,  you can purchase and download them at Know Yourself. The cost is approximately $7 per one-hour recording. I particularly recommend his talks on “Listening with Heart” and “The Secret to Clear Seeing”, but follow your own intuition and you can’t go wrong.

Many Blessings,

Do you also know of Jeannie Zandi’s work in this field? Living as Love? I just went to her 5 day intensive in Pitkin Colo. A lot of people who live in Durango were there. But I was unaware of this nonduality movement and felt very much an outsider. It is big out west there. Interesting I get back worn out from this week and you have an article on it!

Are you into this Presence movement then?

Hi Cynthia, I am familiar with Jeannie Zandi, and it is great that you were drawn to attend her workshop, even though you felt like an ‘outsider’. It is enough that you resonated with her energy, and to me it is obvious that you benefited from attending, even though you may have no idea how. Smile.

In answer to your question, I am very much wanting more “Present Moment Awareness” in my life and am following a few different teachers and practices that support me in that. You might want to check out Michael Brown, who has a book called “The Presence Process”, which can be simply read, or can be done over 11 weeks as a self-guided experiential process. I recommend it.
    Blessings,
    Richard
