Here is a variation of the popular meridian process, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) by Gary Craig, which I have adapted here to help you begin the releasing of your own persistent issues.

Start by identifying the “persistent issue” you wish to address. Also identify the “ideal desired outcome” you wish to create once the persistent issue is released. It may be helpful to write both of these down. So for example, the persistent issue could be something like “I can never create the relationship that makes me happy”. The ideal desired outcome might be something like “I have a wonderful happy relationship in my life now”. Of course, the above is just an example. You can use this process for any issue.

If you are not familiar with the location of the EFT points on your body, take a look at the illustration on my web page at: EFT POINT LOCATIONS

Step #1 The Set-up:

While continuously rubbing the Sore Spot (tender area left side of chest, below collarbone & above breast area) in a small circle, repeat three times, out loud, this affirmation: “Even though …….(insert the issue- for example “I can’t create a happy relationship”)…, I deeply and completely love and accept myself, and I forgive myself”.

When you feel that the rubbing is complete, stop rubbing, hold the Sore Spot, and take one full breath in and out.

Then start rubbing the Sore Spot again, repeat the following:
“Even if I never …….(insert the issue- for example “Even if I never create a happy relationship”)…, I deeply and completely love and accept myself, and I forgive myself”.

When you feel that the rubbing is complete, stop rubbing, hold the Sore Spot, and take one full breath in and out. Then go on to Step #2

Step #2 The Issue Sequence:

Tap on each of the following energy points (while repeating just the words of the issue or condition – For example “I can’t create a happy relationship”) : EB, SE, UE, UN, Ch. The abbreviations for these points are summarized here in the order in which they should be tapped.

1. EB = Beginning of both Eyebrows (tap on inside ends of both eyebrows, nearer nose)

2. SE = Outside Sides of both Eyes (tap on bone)

3. UE = Under both the Eyes (tap on bone)

4. UN = Under the Nose, (tap above upper lip)

5. Ch = Beneath lower lip (tap at crease of Chin)

After finishing tapping on #5, hold that point and take one deep breath, in and out.

Step #3 The Desired Outcome Sequence:

Tap once more on each of the Step #2 points (while repeating three times, just the words of the desired positive outcome – For example “I have a wonderful happy relationship in my life now”). Note: It does not matter if you do not believe this statement! Make sure to take the full breath after step #5, while still holding that point.

_________________________

This entire exercise above should take you less than 10 - 15 minutes. I suggest that you repeat it once or twice daily until you begin to notice some positive changes in the area you are addressing.

Please let me know your experience. A question for you: Would you enjoy a free short audio file (for Blog subscribers only) that you could listen to, and be guided by me through each of the types of modalities I write about? Let me know.

PS- In future posts I will share with you a number of modalities (techniques other than EFT) that I have adapted for specific challenges. Stay tuned.
